Female Land-based Mentorship
The program offers a rich variety of activities designed to engage participants in meaningful and culturally enriching experiences. These activities include Elder's teachings, community assistance, and helping with elders' gardens and ceremonies. Participants can also engage in medicine harvesting, crafting, beading, sewing, singing, dance practice, and teaching. Other hands-on activities include hide tanning, women's yoga, mentorship, cultural teachings, storytelling, and sharing circles. These diverse activities aim to foster community bonds, preserve cultural heritage, and promote holistic well-being.
About Program
The program is open to individuals aged 14 and older, who can sign up as either a mentor or mentee. The programming schedule runs from Thursday to Monday, 12 noon to 8:00 pm, with drinks and lunch provided daily, along with transportation. This educational program will continue until Friday, August 30th, 2024. Each day will feature different land-based and hands-on teachings. There is no cost to join the program, and participants will receive incentives during and at the end of the program. Attendance will be recorded, with every 10th session attended earning a reward.
